Defolding Enzymes

Given the amount of legislation on the environment tanners are required to reduce all kinds of pollution (solid waste, dissolved or suspended substances in effluents). It is well known that beam house operation cause the highest pollution during the leather manufacturing process. the replacement of the conventional unhairing process with sodium sulfide and lime by a less polluting procedure is of paramount important to the tanner.

Several alternatives to the conventional process have studied from renowned institutes & tanners all over the world. Yet most processes could reduce use of Sulfide to about 40-50% level. Hence, tanners have had to resort to vigorous measures in Effluent Treatment part.
